About the Journal

The World Economy Journal (in Spanish, Revista de Economía Mundial, or REM) is a scientific journal of international reach, cited in prestigious indexes worlwide, and a publication of the World Economy Society.

REM commenced publication in 1999 (please see the Introduction from Issue 1) with the aim of sharing scientific investigations on the World Economy, primarily in Spanish, although the journal remains open to publishing articles in all languages, especially English.

The journal's ambition is to be regarded as an obligatory point of reference in studies of the World Economy around the globe. To this end, we select works of original research value, grouping them under topical headings or into more generalized sections. Reviews of prior works, essays and other matter are also given space in a separate section. In order to guarantee the quality of all published pieces, works are subjected to rigorous double-blind evaluation.

Today, REM is backed by a large number of universities and professors throughout the world. This international diversity is exemplified by the journal's Editorial Committee, including representation from a wide variety of countries, trends, and distinct specialties covering the many aspects of the World Economy. The publication's international reach is reflected in its subsciber base of over 200 educators from diverse nations, as well as in the more than 40 publication-exchanges with other journals worlwide.

The REM is currently published through the Publications Services at the University of Huelva, which generously supplies the labor necessary to produce the printed edition. Every edition is also available electronically through this website, where one can find the complete text of every article published to date (with the proviso that, in case of citation, the source be named).
