MACROECONOMIC POLICIES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION AND EMPLOYMENT CREATION: A CRITICAL ASSESSMENT

The macroeconomic policies undertaken in the European Union (EU) since
the creation of the Monetary Union have had a restrictive orientation. At the

increasing employment rates. This article analyses how macroeconomic policies
have been implemented and how their characteristics have jeopardized
the potential to grow and to create jobs in the EU.
